How to develop imagination
This book doesn’t hope to teach anything to anyone, because creativity is a mysterious process and no convincing pedagogical methods exist that train people to be creative. Rather, this book presents a series of topics which – as experience shows – are fertile grounds for creative ideas. These topics pose different demands on a person’s drawing skills, and instructions are given on how to best meet these demands, while common problems and mistakes are pointed out and addressed. For each topic, a variety of possible final results is presented to show the different paths that imagination can tale while still satisfying all the criteria of a given exercise.
This book thus hopes to inspire ideas in those who underestimate the possibilities of instruction-driven creativity while giving some technical knowledge on the side for those who hesitate about certain aspects of constructive drawing.
